Each time members used their RCU Visa debit or credit cards on International Credit Union Day, RCU donated 25 cents to Credit Unions for Kids, which benefits local hospitals belonging to the Children’s Miracle Network, including Children’s Hospital in Oakland. A provision sponsored by U.S. Rep. Mike Thompson in H.R. 3080, the Water Resources Reform and Development Act of 2013, allows the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to continue working with the Sonoma County Water Agency to enhance six miles of endangered coho salmon habitat along Dry Creek between Warm Springs Dam and the Russian River near Healdsburg. This restoration work is required under the Russian River Biological Opinion issued by the National Marine Fisheries Service in 2008 to protect coho salmon, Chinook salmon and steelhead trout. All are listed as endangered or threatened under the Federal Endangered Species Act.

Renova Fort Ross Foundation said its first international children’s art contest, My Fort Ross!, drew worldwide interest.
