San Rafael Chamber of Commerce selected Lynn Sondag for one of the 2013--2014 Excellence in Education Awards. She is an assistant professor at Dominican University of California and chair of the Department of Art, Art History and Design with 14 years' experience in the education community. Her contributions are curriculum improvement, instructional excellence, personal involvement and leadership, overall program improvement and exemplary support to the classroom. She holds a BFA degree from Savannah College of Art and Design and an MFA from California College of the Arts. Zarin Mehta, president and executive director of the New York Philharmonic until 2012, has been brought in to oversee artistic programming for the Green Music Center at Sonoma State University in Rohnert Park. He plans musical events for Joan and Sanford I. Weill Hall, the center's 1,400-seat concert hall, including appearances by the San Francisco and Santa Rosa symphonies plus other international orchestras and musical soloists. He has been the president and CEO of Chicago's Ravinia Festival, and was managing director of the Montreal Symphony. He is the brother of conductor Zubin Mehta.Employment

Sausalito-based Glassdoor hired Adam Spiegel as chief financial officer. He has more than 20 years' experience helping companies prepare for and manage through periods of rapid growth. Previously, Mr. Spiegel was CFO of San Francisco-based RPX Corp., a provider of subscription-based corporate patent risk solutions. He built RPX's finance organization and led the company through a hypergrowth phase, including a $185 million initial public offering. Mr. Spiegel also previously served as CFO for two early-stage life science companies. Earlier, he was an investment banker advising technology, financial services and industrial companies on a wide range of complex transactions, including mergers and acquisitions and public equity and debt financing. Reporting to president and proprietor John Komes, Mr. Tamburelli will oversee winemaking, production, marketing and sales. A Napa Valley native who has spent his entire career in the wine industry, he most recently served 11 years as general manager for Chappellet Vineyard & Winery. Previously, he spent two years as chief operating officer at Stag's Leap Wine Cellars.
