As part of its ongoing commitment to responsible banking and to help increase youth financial education, Union Bank, NA, partnered with financial dignity nonprofit Operation HOPE and the Sonoma Valley Boys & Girls Club to educate high school students about the basics of personal finance. Union Bank volunteers Robin Gold and Molly Fedorchak began teaching HOPE's award-winning youth financial literacy program, Banking on Our Future, to members of the Sonoma Valley Boys & Girls Club on Jan.9. The five-week course culminated with a recognition ceremony to celebrate the students' completion of the program on Feb. 13. This marks the third group of students, and the second group of middle school students, to participate in HOPE's Banking on Our Future curriculum at the Sonoma Valley Boys & Girls Club. Most recently, high school students successfully completed the program in May 2013.

Sonoma County Tourism received three Adrian Awards from Hospitality Sales and Marketing Association International Monday, Feb. 24, for achievements in marketing and public relations in the travel industry. The gold, silver and bronze awards, presented at a gala in New York City, were for a seasonal marketing campaign called Sonoma Sneakaway, the new Sonoma County Tourism website and a public relations award for a travel story about Sonoma County, respectively. Founded in 1957, the Adrian Awards embraces every segment of the industry, including hotels, airlines, cruise lines, car rental companies, destinations, credit card companies and more.
