Financial Accounting Foundation said David Sundstrom, Sonoma County auditor and controller, will serve a second term as a member of the Governmental Accounting Standards Board. His term is effective July 2014--June 2019. Craig Nelson was appointed chairman of Sonoma-based Nelson. He is the former chief executive officer and previously led Nelson’s staffing divisions. The company recently said revenue last year increased 25 percent from 2012.Health Care

She is a longtime Sonoma resident with a strong business and financial background, with more than 15 years' experience in business management, systems development and operations. Corte Madera-based Vine Dining Enterprises, Inc., which operates Left Bank Brasserie and the LB Steak family of Bay Area restaurants, hired Loret Carbone as president and chief operating officer. Most recently, she was president and chief operating officer of Ozumo Concepts International in San Francisco. Previously, she worked for more than nine years for Pleasanton-based grocery chain Safeway, first as vice president of branded concepts and culinary innovation then as president of Safeway Restaurant Group.Wine

Scott Zapotocky joined J Vineyards & Winery, located south of Healdsburg in Sonoma County's Russian River Valley region, as director of vineyard operations. Five of J’s nine estate vineyards Certified Sustainable, he will be focusing on green practices and precision farming. Previously, he was vineyard operations manager and director of vineyards at Paul Hobbs Winery in Sebastopol. He started there in 2006 as a harvest intern, after stints at JC Cellars, Chalone Vineyard and Canoe Ridge Vineyard in a variety of winemaking and cellar positions.

Sonoma State University alumnus Ian Cauble, master sommelier, is returning to the institution March 28 for a special viewing of Somm, a film documenting his journey to becoming the 197th master sommelier in history. The showing will be at 6 p.m. in the Student Center Ballroom. The showing will begin with a food and wine pairing selected by Mr. Cauble and Eric Lee, Sonoma State's executive chef and Food Network star.
