Financial Accounting Foundation said David Sundstrom, Sonoma County auditor and controller, will serve a second term as a member of the Governmental Accounting Standards Board. His term is effective July 2014--June 2019. The foundation is the independent, private-sector organization responsible for the oversight of the GASB and the Financial Accounting Standards Board.Banking & Finance

Mark Nelson, former president and chief operating officer of the Nelson Family of Companies, joined Altus Equity, one of the North Bay’s fastest-growing alternative asset investment companies, as partner. With 25 years of business-building experience, he will be charged with strategic oversight and positioning, capital access and accumulation, investor relations, operational improvement and talent acquisition. Craig Nelson was appointed chairman of Sonoma-based Nelson. He is the former chief executive officer and previously led Nelson’s staffing divisions. The company recently said revenue last year increased 25 percent from 2012.Health Care

Sonoma Valley Hospital Foundation appointed Selma Blanusa executive director. She is a longtime Sonoma resident with a strong business and financial background, with more than 15 years' experience in business management, systems development and operations. That experience includes management positions with Microsoft in Richmond, Wash., and Andersen Consulting, for which she consulted with several Fortune 500 companies.Hospitality & Tourism

Corte Madera-based Vine Dining Enterprises, Inc., which operates Left Bank Brasserie and the LB Steak family of Bay Area restaurants, hired Loret Carbone as president and chief operating officer. Most recently, she was president and chief operating officer of Ozumo Concepts International in San Francisco. Previously, she worked for more than nine years for Pleasanton-based grocery chain Safeway, first as vice president of branded concepts and culinary innovation then as president of Safeway Restaurant Group.Wine
