Several hotels in Sonoma and Napa counties have undergone or will undergo significant renovations as the tourism season quickly approaches full swing.
The Silverado Resort and Spa in Napa recently announced the completion of renovations to its 12,000-square-foot conference center and all 380 of its guest rooms. The conference center upgrades were managed by Backen, Gillam & Kroeger Architects, which has offices in St. Helena and Sausalito, while the guest-room upgrades were handled by Miami-based AMB Designs, according to the resort, which is owned by golf legend Johnny Miller and operated by New Jersey-based Dolce Hotels and Resorts.

Over the past year, Silverado Resort and Spa and AMB Designs began transforming all 380 guest rooms, including new open kitchen design, art work, a redesigned fireplace, new bedding and bathrooms.
The refurnished conference center includes new trim, wainscoting, and bead boards, all freshly painted. The lower level conference rooms were transformed into a wine cellar experience with exposed and stained concrete, new brick work, controlled lighting, and custom wine racks as decor.

The overall property renovations were sparked by owner Johnny Miller, whose first initiative was to renovate the PGA championship North Course. The resort will host the 2014 Frys.com Open in October. The resort resort also features a 16,000-square-foot spa, 10 swimming pools, 13 tennis courts and other recreational offerings.
