The seventeen North Bay women business leaders who were selected will be recognized at the North Bay Business Journal's 14th annual "Women in Business" awards gala June 25, joining a select group of more than 115 female executives and entrepreneurs to receive the designation.

The awards, event and special publication on the recipients are co-presented by the Business Journal and Wells Fargo.

The keynote speaker at the event will be Hollie Delaney, director of human resources for Zappos.com, a company widely known for its high levels of customer service and extraordinary corporate culture. The company's journey from San Francisco online shoe and apparel startup to its sale in 2009 to Amazon for $1.2 billion is captured in the best-selling book by its founder and CEO Tony Hsieh, Delivering Happiness, a Path to Profits, Passion and Purpose.

Ms. Delaney has spent seven years with the Zappos Family and many more in the world of human resources. She been helping to lead the charge of changing the traditional company structure to one based on trust and distributed authority and has been pivotal in working to deliver happiness and provide the best place for employees to work, according to the company.

"We are very proud to honor this year's incredible group of 17 women business leaders," said Business Journal Publisher Brad Bollinger. "And I want to thank our partners at Wells Fargo for supporting these awards and for helping us secure Hollie Delaney as our speaker on June 25. We hope the broader business community will join us for the event to hear the Zappos story and its ground-breaking approach to human resources management and culture."
