Sonoma Stompers Baseball Club signed pitcher Cardoza Tucker for the 2014 season. A 29-year-old right-hander, he is a 10-year veteran of professional baseball, most recently with Na Koa Ikaika Maui in 2013. Drafted in the 48th round in 2002 out of Bullard High School in Fresno by the Seattle Mariners, Mr. Tucker attended Fresno City College as a draft-and-follow player. He pitched for two seasons in the Mariners organization and has spent time with the Houston Astros and St. Louis Cardinals organizations as well. In independent baseball, the Fresno native has played across the world, from Ishikawa, Japan, in the Baseball Challenge League to Ottawa in the Canadian-American Association.Insurance

Jessica Marshall-Harkness joined EPIC Insurance Brokers as an account manager specializing in employee benefits. A native of Napa, she joins the Employee Benefits Consulting resource team based in Petaluma. After earning a BS in business administration, she started her career with The Guardian Life Insurance Company of America, where she worked for nearly 10 years. While there, she was responsible for marketing a diverse portfolio of employee benefit products to a network of consultants, brokers and financial service professionals in Northern California, Northern Nevada, Colorado, Wyoming and Montana; educating clients and employers about benefits; while being a resource for prompt resolution of concerns resulting in satisfied customers. She has expertise in medical, dental, disability, vision, and life products as they relate to employer-benefit needs.Nonprofits

Scott Leonard, CEO and co-founder of Indigenous Designs, and Komron Shahhosseini, project manager with Oakmont Senior Living, joined the board of the Leadership Institute for Ecology and the Economy in Santa Rosa. Mr. Leonard in 1994 started his firm, an apparel brand and producer of hand-crafted fair trade clothing from organic fabrics, then moved the headquarters to Santa Rosa from Sebastopol recently. Mr. Shahhosseini oversees site acquisition and development for Santa Rosa-based Oakmont Senior Living, negotiating and processing entitlements for a number of development projects throughout California, including assisted living facilities, continuing care retirement communities and mixed use and multi-family developments.Real Estate

Stewart Title of California appointed Marie Daniels senior escrow officer, overseeing real estate closing transactions in San Francisco and Marin counties from an office in Greenbrae. She has 26 years of experience in residential and commercial transactions.

David Cole joined Terra Firma Global Partners' Sonoma office as a senior sales associate. Mr. Cole is a 30-year residential real estate veteran.  In 2007 Mr. Cole opened his own firm, Amerivest Realty of Lee Island Coast in Naples, Fla., a brokerage that now has 60 agents. He joined Alain Pinel Realtors in early 2012.

Dave Brinkley also joined as a new sales associate in the same office. Mr. Brinkley after college joined what is now GlaxoSmithKline and held leadership positions in Canada, Mexico and Brazil. At Pfizer, he led the launch team for Viagra. Mr. Brinkley recently earned his real estate license after three decades as an international management and marketing executive in the pharmaceutical industry.Technology

Agilent Technologies said it plans to appoint Jean Halloran to the board of directors of Keysight Technologies, the spinoff electronic measurement products company that will be based in Santa Rosa and makes up nearly half of Agilent's business. She plans to retire from Agilent, effective Oct. 31. She has been senior vice president of human resources since the formation of Agilent in 1999. She has directed Agilent's global policies and programs for leadership and talent development, compensation, benefits, staffing and workforce planning, human resources systems, education and organizational development.Wine

Master sommeliers Thomas Price and Sur Lucero have recently joined Jackson Family Wines. Mr. Price and Mr. Lucero will serve as brand ambassadors across the portfolio to help deepen relationships with influencers and provide education for consumers and wine trade. Mr. Thomas brings decades of hospitality and restaurant management experience working in Alaska and later at Seattle's finest restaurants, including wine director at Ruth's Chris in Seattle and head sommelier at The Metropolitan Grill. In 2007, he passed his Advanced Sommelier certification on the first try and obtained his Master Sommelier certification in 2012. Mr. Lucero honed his hospitality and wine expertise at restaurants including The French Laundry, The Little Nell and Daniel Bouloud in Las Vegas. Mr. Lucero earned certification in 2012 and received the Court of Master Sommeliers' 14th Krug Cup for achieving the highest scores among all three sections of the exam on his first attempt.

Jean-Charles Boisset, proprietor of Boisset Family Estates in Rutherford, and his wife, Gina Gallo, winemaker for Gallo Signature Series Wines, were awarded the Chuck Smith Award for Global Entrepreneurship by John F. Kennedy University's Institute of Entrepreneurial Leadership. The couple was selected for being the new entrepreneurial faces of wine and the next generation leading the wine world forward. Their bi-continental, global approach and inspiring story of dynamism, energy and entrepreneurial spirit were all cited as reasons for the nomination.
