NAPA -- The Napa Chamber of Commerce named Travis Stanley as its new president and CEO.

Mr. Stanley’s career includes 25 years working in public relations and marketing for the National Basketball Association, most recently with the Golden State Warriors, where he held the title of senior executive vice president of marketing. Prior to that, he worked in public relations for the Sacramento Kings and the Orlando Magic.

“Travis’ extensive business background and career accomplishments as a top sports marketing executive and his commitment to the Napa Valley were all very impressive,” Napa Chamber Board Chair Ken Frank said in a statement. “He will dedicate himself to our members, help us continue to strengthen the bridge to our community, and lead the organization down a positive and revitalized track.”

Mr. Stanley replaces former CEO Chris Messina, who stepped down from the position last November after two years.

Mr. Stanley is a 10-year resident of Napa and lives there with his wife and two children.

“Over the past decade, I’ve had the pleasure of getting to know Napa on a personal level," Mr. Stanley said. "Spending time with neighbors and families, local business owners and community leaders provided much of the inspiration for my desire to help make a small difference in this wonderful community.”

Enhancing the membership experience is a key priority for Mr. Stanley.

“We have an amazing opportunity to continue to move in a positive and prosperous direction, building a strong foundation for future generations,” he  said. “I'm grateful to the chamber board of directors for their demonstration of confidence and support."
