Summit State Bank promoted Cheryl Cruz to vice president and special assets department manager. Ms. Cruz has 38 years of banking experience and has been with Summit for six years in the Special Assets Department. Her responsibilities include working with borrowers who have been especially challenged during the recent economic downturn. She has served on several community boards, including Sonoma County's July 4th Red White & Boom, Windsor's July 3rd Kaboom and currently Santa Rosa's Wednesday Night Market.Entertainment
The Sonoma Stompers Baseball Club has signed pitcher Will Krout for the 2014 season. Mr. Krout, a 30-year-old right-hander, is a seven-year veteran of professional baseball, having played most recently with Gary Southshore Railcats in 2013, where he was a vital part of the pitching rotation while winning an American Association championship. The Sonoma State University alumnus pitched two years for the Seawolves, where he went 11-10 with 96 strikeouts, including a team-high 53 in 2005. Over his 21 career starts at Sonoma State, Krout threw six complete and tallied 183 1/3 innings pitched. Krout also spent two-years at the Santa Rosa Junior college where he went 15-4, and worked 178 1/3 innings and fanned 114 batters between 2003 – '04.Nonprofits

Elaina Hunt, Summit State Bank's vice president of marketing and community relations, was named to the Petaluma People Services Center board of directors. The agency provides a variety of support services to the Petaluma community, ranging from youth counseling to senior care and has served more than 7,000 people within the last year.
