The Business Journal's seventh annual Impact Napa conference this year will focus on the valley's top industry -- wine -- and is set to feature an interview with its grand dame, Margrit Mondavi.
A highlight of the morning conference Aug. 28 in Napa is scheduled to be an interview of Mrs. Mondavi by veteran practitioner and instructor in wine law Richard Mendelson of Napa-based Dickenson Peatman & Fogarty.
Mrs. Mondavi, 88, met Robert Mondavi in 1966 while she was a tour guide at his eponymous Oakville winery. Her work as the promotional force for the winery was responsible for the launch of a pioneering summer concert series, and she has continued to be a brand ambassador over the years.
A panel at the conference is set to tackle the latest developments in Napa Valley tourism and business approaches by the next generation of wine industry leaders.

Panelist Clay Gregory is president and CEO of Visit Napa Valley, which deploys money raised from the Napa Valley Tourism Improvement District in promoting local food, wine and entertainment. Tourism is the second-largest industry in the valley, bringing in more than $1.3 billion annually.
