Napa Valley native Rich Salvestrin is set to be honored as Napa County Farm Bureau's Outstanding Agriculturist of the Year at the 101st annual dinner meeting on July 26. The organization recognizes Mr. Salvestrin for more than 20 years of leadership, dedication and service to local agriculture and the community. He was on the board for a number of years and board president from 1999--2001. He worked collaboratively with industry leaders to establish the successful glassy-winged sharpshooter exclusion program, directed efforts to support farmworker housing, campaigned to protect farmland against urban development in Pope Valley and supported the creation of the Napa Green/Fish-Friendly Farming certification program.Banking

Summit State Bank (NASDAQ: SSBI) promoted Peggy Wyman to vice president and branch manager in Rohnert Park. She has more than 30 years of banking experience and has been with Summit for two years. She currently is on the board of the Rotary Club of Rohnert Park--Cotati, NOAH (Neighbors Organized Against Hunger), in leadership of BNI Direct Connections and on the Steering Committee for the upcoming debut of Leadership Rohnert Park with the Rohnert Park Chamber of Commerce. Landesign Construction Maintenance hired Lindsay Chiccone as a junior estimator and designer. She has a landscape architecture degree from California Polytechnic Institute, San Luis Obispo. While there, she partnered with a Southern California architecture firm for her senior project, winning Best Senior Project for water-wise landscape at a biomedical facility. The American Society of Landscape Architects also recognized her with the "Award of Honor" for outstanding work as a landscape architecture student.Government
