Napa Valley native Rich Salvestrin is set to be honored as Napa County Farm Bureau's Outstanding Agriculturist of the Year at the 101st annual dinner meeting on July 26. The organization recognizes Mr. Salvestrin for more than 20 years of leadership, dedication and service to local agriculture and the community. He was on the board for a number of years and board president from 1999--2001. He worked collaboratively with industry leaders to establish the successful glassy-winged sharpshooter exclusion program, directed efforts to support farmworker housing, campaigned to protect farmland against urban development in Pope Valley and supported the creation of the Napa Green/Fish-Friendly Farming certification program.Banking

Summit State Bank (NASDAQ: SSBI) promoted Peggy Wyman to vice president and branch manager in Rohnert Park. She has more than 30 years of banking experience and has been with Summit for two years. She currently is on the board of the Rotary Club of Rohnert Park--Cotati, NOAH (Neighbors Organized Against Hunger), in leadership of BNI Direct Connections and on the Steering Committee for the upcoming debut of Leadership Rohnert Park with the Rohnert Park Chamber of Commerce. She has also been recognized with the Spirit of Sonoma County Award.Construction

Landesign Construction Maintenance hired Lindsay Chiccone as a junior estimator and designer. She has a landscape architecture degree from California Polytechnic Institute, San Luis Obispo. While there, she partnered with a Southern California architecture firm for her senior project, winning Best Senior Project for water-wise landscape at a biomedical facility. The American Society of Landscape Architects also recognized her with the "Award of Honor" for outstanding work as a landscape architecture student.Government

The city of Santa Rosa appointed Deborah Lauchner chief financial officer. She is currently finance director for city of Vallejo and is set to assume her duties in Santa Rosa on July 28. She has held financial responsibilities in local government for 17 years including cities of Vallejo and Rohnert Park and the county of Santa Cruz. Previously, she served as a credit manager for the U.S. Department of Agriculture. She holds a B.S. degree in agriculture and managerial economics from the University of California, Davis.Hospitality

On the heels of completing renovations to its 12,000-square-foot conference center and 380 guest rooms, Silverado Resort and Spa near Napa made several hires. Nathan Davis, a certified Sommelier from the Court of Master Sommeliers, is resort manager. He previously worked in San Diego as director of operations for US Grant, rated by AAA with four Diamonds and by Forbes with four Stars. Julie Maurer is vice president of marketing, a new position for the resort. She held a number of positions at Lake Tahoe resorts, including vice president of marketing and sales at Squaw Valley & Alpine Meadows and Northstar-at-Tahoe. She was president of North Tahoe Chamber of Commerce, a board member of North Tahoe Resort Association and on the California Travel and Tourism Commission. Christopher Costas is director of food and beverage. He was director of restaurants at Omni Resorts Montelucia Resort in Paradise Valley, Ariz. He is a level 2 sommelier and a certified specialist of wine. Mark Krueger is director of finance. J. Mullineaux of Community Foundation Sonoma County was awarded the chartered advisor in philanthropy (CAP) professional designation by the American College of Financial Services. In addition to his undergraduate education at the University of Washington, he holds a master's degree in organizational psychology from Columbia University. The CAP designation is designed to give a broad knowledge and skills to help clients and prospective donors reach financial and philanthropic goals.

Keith White joined Terra Firma Global Partners' Petaluma office as a residential real estate sales associate. He comes to Terra Firma with almost a decade of real estate experience as a valuation specialist (appraiser) in the North Bay area. He previously worked for Smart Appraisal Services and Silverhawk Appraisal Company. He is experienced in both urban and wine country property and marketplaces.

Therese Nugent joined Michael Crain Properties, a vineyard advisory and brokerage, for the company's newly created residential real estate division at its Sonoma headquarters. She has 25 years' experience with Sonoma Valley nonprofit organizations including board of directorships and advisory positions at the Sonoma Valley Hospital Foundation, Sonoma International Film Festival and Sonoma Valley Museum of Art and as a founding member of the Junior League of Napa-Sonoma.
