Moss Adams, LLP, hired Glenn Bunting, a 20-plus-year veteran in the health care finance industry, as director in the health care consulting practice. Mr. Bunting specializes in appeal services and has helped clients navigate financially significant Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement issues. He will help oversee the firm’s third-party reimbursement practice, including charge capture services, cost reporting, optimization and compliance, Medicare wage index and occupational mix reporting, reimbursement department outsourcing, Medicare and Medicaid cost report appeals and medical education programs. He previously served as vice president of appeal services at Toyon Associates Inc., providing expertise in Medicare and Medicaid appeals and cost report reviews. He has worked with the Provider Reimbursement Review Board and Medicare Administrative Contractors to resolve cases before they reached the hearing stage. Prior to joining Toyon Associates, he worked as an auditor in both the Medicare Administration and the California Office of Statewide Health Planning & Development. Additionally, he is an active member of the Healthcare Financial Management Association, where he has coauthored articles and presented on cost report appeals at the association’s annual conference. Napa/Sonoma Small Business Development Center adviser John DeGaetano was nationally recognized with the State Star designation. Mr. DeGaetano was given the State Star award for outstanding performance in helping clients achieve the highest level of economic success within the region for 2013. He currently works as a business adviser with three SBDC centers within the Northern California region, located in Napa, Sonoma, Marin and San Francisco counties. The NorCal SBDC region provides no-cost business counseling and low cost workshops to small businesses to 13 counties along the coast from the Oregon border to Santa Cruz. Mr. DeGaetano will be recognized as a State Star in September at the national America’s SBDC professional development conference at an award ceremony in Dallas.Government

The city of Novato hired a permanent public works director, Russell Thompson. He was most recently public works director for Atascadero and has 28 years of public and private experience, including owning and operating a civil engineering firm, engineering California Polytechnic University's Baggett Stadium and the Colony at Apple Valley subdivision, and managing the $32 million reconstruction of the historic Atascadero City Hall, which was recently named Project of the Year by the Central Coast Chapter of the American Public Works Association. Mr. Thompson will be managing a department of 54 employees, including engineering, maintenance and custodial staff, and overseeing a $14 million capital improvement program and a $6 million operations budget.Green
