NORTH BAY -- Startups and entrepreneurs will have a chance this Friday to present their business ideas to prospective investors at the North Bay Innovation Expo, sponsored by SoCo Nexus.

The event is from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at 1400 Valley House Dr., Ste. 100, at Sonoma Mountain Village in Rohnert Park. Entrepreneurs will pitch their business ideas and compete for a $5,000 prize. An investment summit in the afternoon is for accredited investors.

The Friday event is part of the first North Bay Innovation Week. During a series of decentralized conferences held throughout Sonoma, Marin, and Napa counties, entrepreneurs and innovators alike will have the opportunity to share their passions, discuss illuminating concepts and practices, and network with other like-minded business professionals.

 “The North Bay iHub  is making  great advancements in tech, science, venture capital and more” said Louis Stewart, deputy director of the Governor’s Office of Business and Economic Development (GO-Biz).  North Bay Innovation Week provides the platform for more Tri County collaboration, innovation and entrepreneurship and is setting the standard for advancing innovation that is being emulated throughout the California iHubs.

Amee Sas, an entrepreneur in real estate and investing, is the SoCo Nexus executive director. The nonprofit organization has particular focus on sustainable resources, medical technology, cloud-based technology and manufacturing.
