Cuvaison remakes tasting rooms with green design
June 29th, 2009NAPA VALLEY – Cuvaison Estate Wines redesigned its historic Calistoga tasting room as well as its Carneros site at the winery’s 400-acre estate vineyards. Green features used in the remodel include solar energy watch on its Web site, storm water routed through bioswales, reclaimed and certified sustainably grown wood, windows positioned for natural temperature control and used-denim insulation.

Public input meetings set for Cloverdale plan
June 29th, 2009CLOVERDALE – The city of Cloverdale completed the purchase of 5.32 acres of the Thyme Square commercial development site using $3.1 million in funds for low-moderate income housing projects. It also conducted the first of three workshops to gather public input on the Station Area Plan, which will guide the development of a connection between downtown and the SMART station and provide a design for a gateway to downtown as well as proposed uses for the Thyme Square site.

Green Business: Water officials OK B20 for tanks; new organic wine rules
June 22nd, 2009State water-quality regulators are allowing storage of biodiesel blends up to 20 percent, or B20, in approved, compliant underground fuel tanks through Dec. 1 on an “emergency” basis as they work on permanent rules. The temporary rule went into effect June 1.
