Today, Autodesk offers building design software based on intelligent models created with Autodesk Revit and AutoCAD Civil 3D software.

"Our company is helping to expand the benefits of BIM with a complete line of complementary solutions for visualizing and simulating projects virtually, documentation and professional drafting, along with data management and collaboration," said Catherine Palmer, marketing manager for architecture, engineering and construction solutions at Autodesk.

For example, the Autodesk Building Design and Autodesk Infrastructure Design suites offer a comprehensive set of tools to support BIM workflows in a single, cost-effective package.

"BIM provides a foundation for technology information, and AEC professionals are already starting to take advantage of mobile access to BIM computing power in the cloud and through SaaS (software as a service) technology beyond the desktop," Ms. Palmer added.
