The Business Journal enters 2017 — its 30th year — with two new staff members and a promotion.
Business Journal Publisher Brad Bollinger announced the hiring of veteran journalist Anthony Borders as editor and event content manager and the promotion of the Journal’s Paul Pastorino to senior account executive.
In addition, Kimberly Beavers joins the Journal as an account executive.
“These changes reflect the Journal’s commitment to business news reporting and analysis and to providing the best business-to-business marketing solutions for the North Bay,” Bollinger said.
Borders, whose career includes 10 years in newsroom management at the Riverside, Calif., Press Enterprise, will oversee the Journal’s print and digital news operations and develop content for events in direct collaboration with the publisher.
“The addition of Anthony will allow us to continue to deliver the best business news and events to the North Bay. That is our commitment to you,” said Bollinger, who was named publisher in 2013 after serving as editor and associate publisher since 2005.
Pastorino is a 30-year media-marketing veteran and former co-publisher/founder of the 680 Business Journal serving Alameda, Contra Costa and Solano counties. He has served on the Business Journal team for six years.
Beavers joined the Business Journal team full time after working for the parent company, Sonoma Media Investments, for three years. Her background includes management in customer service as well as being a licensed commercial insurance underwriter.
