Vallejo, Vacaville health centers named ‘Top Hospitals’

The Vallejo and Vacaville Kaiser Permanente Medical Centers have been named as two of the nation’s Top Teaching Hospitals by the Leapfrog Group.

The Top Hospital list is comprised of teaching and general medical centers throughout the U. S. The Vallejo and Vacaville Center’s were two of five Kaiser Permanente Northern California centers named. The others include San Francisco, Roseville and Fremont.

“The care we provide is about doing what is best for the patient, keeping them safe and providing the highest quality care, every day. The health and well-being of our patients is a shared responsibility between our highly skilled physicians, nurses and care teams, all working together,” said Steven Stricker, MD, physician-in-chief for Kaiser Permanente’s Napa Solano Area.

Teaching hospitals are defined as medical centers with a documented affiliation agreement with a medical school or participate in a number of approved, active residency programs.

Leapfrog is a nonprofit organization that collects, analyzes and disseminates hospital performance data.
