Average cost by county for hotel rooms in September rose from 4.2% to 10.2% in the four-county area while the average cost of a room in the month ranged from $373.75 a night in Napa County to $67.75 a night in Solano County, according to a travel data company report.

The average occupancy rate for the month ranged from 89.6% in Marin County to 71.2% in Solano County

For the nostalgia buffs, in 2010 a room in September in Sonoma County went for $124.57 a night while Napa County’s average night rate was $258.35.
