KISS eatery Rock & Brews rolls into Vacaville

Good news for North Bay fans of the rock band KISS: Bassist Gene Simmons and singer-guitarist Paul Stanley are bringing their casual-dining chain, Rock & Brews, to Vacaville.

The location is set for Vacaville Commons on Nut Tree Parkway and is expected to open in November.

Simmons described the restaurants as a vortex of energy.

Entering the space is 'like walking into a party that already is going on,' Simmons told the Sacramento Bee. 'You are surrounded by pop culture. Classic rock, the soundtrack of your life. Videos and visuals, everything.'

Rock & Brew's menu is American cuisine with locally sourced ingredients, and includes salads, burgers and pizza. The restaurant caters to the craft-beer movement, serving international beer with an emphasis on local brewers.

Rock & Brews also sells KISS T-shirts and other merchandise.

Dining will be available indoor and al fresco on three large, dog-friendly patios that span 1,645 square feet.

A private dining area will include an open-air patio.

The family-oriented restaurant will offer a variety of games for guests of all ages.

The 7,970-square-foot Rock & Brews will employ about 125 people.

Founding partners are KISS band members Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons, restaurateur/hotelier Michael Zislis and concert industry/merchandising veterans Dave and Dell Furano. The company is headquartered in Manhattan Beach.

The first Rock & Brews opened in El Segundo, California in 2012, and the company has more than a dozen locations across the U.S. and in Mexico.

Another restaurant at Sacramento's Cal Expo is due to open early next year.

Grand opening activities in Vacaville hosted by Stanley and Simmons will take place prior to the end of the year to benefit local veterans and active military personnel.
