WildCare lands new director

WildCare, a Marin nonprofit which focuses on wildlife rehabilitation and nature education, has hired Vaughn R. Maurice as its executive director.

The group stated that Vaughn has logged more than twenty years in the nonprofit world, with a special focus on animal welfare and advocacy. He began his career at the American Red Cross, and has led organizations such as the St. Tammany Humane Society, Dogs for the Deaf and has most recently led the national development efforts for the Animal Legal Defense Fund.

Vaughn began his new role today, Jan. 9.

Vaughn will be following in the footsteps of Karen Wilson who is retiring after serving as WildCare’ executive director for the past thirteen years
