Describe the facilities you oversee: Americas portfolio, which includes approximately 40 sites in the U.S, Canada, and Latin America.
Tell us a little bit about yourself: Served in the U.S. Army as a military policewoman prior to joining Autodesk. Worked at Autodesk since January 1987 in a number of roles.
Community involvement: We have a limited role in community events, due to the global nature of our organization.
What is the achievement you are most proud of?
I am very proud of my military service. I spent five years in Germany during the first cold war.
What is your biggest challenge today?
Our biggest challenge is dealing with a population of workers who work both remotely and within the offices. On a day-to-day basis, our office spaces could be extremely full or very empty depending on what is going on. The challenge is making best use of our office space.
What is the next major project either underway or on the horizon?
Autodesk is relocating its office in Lake Oswego, Ore., to downtown Portland, Ore.
What product or service would, or is helping you do to do your job more effectively?
Autodesk is currently using a product called Autodesk BIM 360 Ops. It is a facilities management tool that we use for employee service tickets.
How do you think your profession will change in the next five years?
I think there will be more emphasis on creating neighborhoods and working at unassigned desks to make better use of our real estate portfolio.
