Notable Napa wine business attorney joins Coblentz Patch Duffy & Bass; other North Bay professionals news

Scott Greenwood-Meinert joined Coblentz Patch Duffy & Bass, LLP, as a partner in the Napa office. The San Francisco-based law firm is expanding its wine business practice.

Greenwood-Meinert focuses on real estate, land-use and business transactions, with an emphasis on the wine industry. His work includes winery conditional use permitting, water law, leasing, financing, title issues, succession planning, and environmental and conservation issues under CEQA and related laws. Beyond the wine industry, his water law practice includes rights, transfers, supplies and environmental and regulatory compliance.

Greenwood-Meinert has been practicing in Napa Valley since 2006, split between Gaw Van Male and, most recently, Dickenson Peatman & Fogarty. He is a frequent wine business speaker, including co-chairing the Business of Wine seminar, set for Nov. 16 in Napa.

San Rafael-based commercial real estate owner and operator Seagate Properties, Inc., promoted three to principal.

Brian Johnson most recently was vice president of acquisitions. Johnson joined Seagate in 2005 and has 15 years of commercial real estate investment experience.

Previously, he was associated with CM Realty. He is a member of the Urban Land Institute and received a bachelor's degree from Boston College.

Denise Driscoll, CPA, moved up from controller to oversee all fiscal and accounting matters. She has been a CPA for more than 25 years.

She is a graduate of the Haas School of Business at University of California, Berkeley, and joined Seagate in 2008.

Formerly director of leasing, Erik Pentland now is responsible for leasing and asset management in the portfolio, located in the San Francisco Bay Area and Denver region. A licensed real estate agent, he has 20 years of commercial leasing experience, 14 of them with Seagate.

Before Seagate, he was associated with Lowe Enterprises and Jones Lang LaSalle. He is a member of the Urban Land Institute and a graduate of the University of California, Los Angeles.

Seagate is a full-service real estate investment and operating company, focused on value-add and opportunistic commercial and multifamily investments.

Napa Valley-based Rutherford Wine Company hired Kaitlyn Sulenski as assistant winemaker. She has experience in the cellar and lab, most recently at Ferrari-Carano. She earned a bachelor's degree from California Polytechnic University, San Luis Obispo, and a master's degree in enology and viticulture from Vinifera Euromaster in Montpellier, France, and Milano, Italy.

She will report to Rutherford Wine head winemaker Jay Turnipseed.

The company's wine portfolio includes brands Rutherford Ranch, Scott Family Estate, Predator Wines, Rhiannon Red Wine, Lander-Jenkins, Silver Buckle and Four Virtues Bourbon Barrel Red and Round Hill California.

Melissa A. Seeker, M.D., recently joined Women's OBGYN Medical Group, operated by Santa Rosa-based Northern California Medical Associates. Seeker is an alumnus of Saint Louis University where she graduated as a member of Alpha Sigma Nu with honors prior to receiving her M.D. at Creighton University School of Medicine, Omaha, Nebraska.

She was chief resident in obstetrics and gynecology at the University of Arizona College of Medicine–Phoenix.
