Valley fire recovery added to Impact Sonoma Oct. 21
The Business Journal’s Impact Sonoma conference Wednesday, Oct. 21, will include a report on the Lake County fire recovery efforts and speakers on key issues and initiatives in the county including water, sustainable winegrowing, the SMART train and the 200-room hotel under construction at the Graton Resort & Casino in Rohnert Park.
“Our neighbors, friends, families and employees in Lake County have suffered a great tragedy,” said Business Journal Publisher Brad Bollinger. “Oct. 21 will be an opportunity to hear from important leaders in the recovery effort and about how we can help.”
Speakers include Lake County Supervisor Rob Brown; Bill Groody, board member of the Lake County Wine Alliance; and Pony Krueger, Northern Region general construction superintendent for Pacific Gas & Electric.
The sixth annual Impact conference, created to address important issues and initiatives in Sonoma County, also will include:
Steve Sangiacomo, a third-generation winegrape grower and a leader in the Sonoma County Winegrowers groundbreaking effort to be the first region in the world to be 100 percent sustainably farmed by 2019.
Grant Davis, general manager of Sonoma County Water Agency, who will address the region’s response to the ongoing drought.
Joe Hasson, general manager of the Graton Resort & Casino, who will talk about the facility’s $175 million hotel project.
And Bill Gamlen, chief engineer of the Sonoma-Marin Area Rail Transit District, which plans to bring commuter rail service to the region in late 2016.
Impact Sonoma is underwritten by Summit State Bank. Registration is at 7:30 a.m., and the program runs 8–11 a.m. at the Hyatt Vineyard Creek Hotel & Spa in Santa Rosa.
