Iver Skavdal, based in Santa Rosa, has been named executive director of GHD Group, a leading employee-owned engineering, environmental and construction services company with 130 offices in North America and 70 more globally.
He is a civil engineer with more than 35 years’ experience in multidisciplinary project management, design and construction management.
Skavdal is responsible for the company’s operations in California, Arizona, Oregon, Washington, Guam and Saipan. He has also led GHD’s recent merger with Omni-Means, an award-winning, engineering business focused on the transportation market.
Marin Community Clinics, the largest provider of medical and dental care to Marin’s low-income population, recruited 14 new clinicians during the first quarter of 2017.
The new clinicians are Christopher Hogan, M.D., gastroenterologist; Dana Jackson, D.O., pediatrician; Lawrence Posner, M.D., internal medicine; and Maria Webster-Longin, M.D., internal medicine.
Dentists joining the organization are Leslie McGarvey, D.D.S.; Albert Pomerantz, D.D.S.; Maximilian Tsui, D.D.S.; and Samuel Upton, D.D.S.

Cottage Grove Inn has promoted Lindsay Roach to general manager. Roach is a graduate of Chico State University.

Brendan Barrett has joined Santa Rosa structural engineering firm MKM & Associates as a structural designer (EIT). According to the company, Barrett obtained his degree in civil engineering at California State University, Chico and is a U.S. Green Building Council LEED Green Associate.
Mike Lagoyda has joined the Santa Rosa office of Terra Firma Global Partners. For the last four years he worked as a RE/MAX agent in Beverly Hills, Bel-Air and most of the San Fernando Valley, and earlier served as a RE/MAX office administrator there and with Village Properties in Montecito.
The Agricultural Sustainability Institute at University of California at Davis plans to honor alumnus David Lewis with its Eric Bradford and Charlie Rominger Agricultural Sustainability Leadership Award at a ceremony April 19 at U.C. Davis’ International House.
Lewis is the Marin County farm adviser and the U.C. Cooperative Extension director for Marin County. He has led the Novato-based office since 2009.
The Bradford Rominger award honors individuals who exhibit the leadership, work ethic and integrity epitomized by the late Eric Bradford, a livestock geneticist who gave 50 years of service to U.C. Davis, and the late Charlie Rominger, a fifth-generation Yolo County farmer and land preservationist.
The cooperative stated Lewis’ accomplishments include helping to reduce the dairy pollution hurting the oyster beds of Tomales Bay and helping ranchers reduce erosion on their property, letting them play a key role in conserving critical coho salmon habitat and protecting the water quality of North Coast rivers.
