Describe the facilities you oversee: Beautiful Spanish Architecture with an approximately 6,700 square foot ballroom, six classrooms with a total of 3,200 square feet, and a commissary kitchen of 638 square feet, surrounding a courtyard of 5,640 square feet with a large center fountain and olive trees.
Tell us a little bit about yourself: Born and raised in Santa Rosa. Married with five kids
What do you see as the role of the facilities managers within your organization?
Scheduling the usage and organizing the maintenance and any needed repairs
Any community involvement: Currently not involved due to time constraints but previously volunteered as a board member for Mark West Youth Club, taught religious education, and was a youth group leader.
What is the achievement you are most proud of?
Organizing and streamlining the booking process and maintenance schedules.
What is the next major project either underway or on the horizon?
Re-flooring three of our classrooms and planting more drought tolerant landscaping.
What product or service would, or is helping you do to do your job more effectively?
Honestly, Google calendar has been wonderful to use for scheduling the facility. And it’s free.
How do you think your profession will change in the next five years?
I’m not sure but I think the booking process will become more electronic. For example e-signatures for contracts etc.
