Staff: Describe the facilities you oversee: There are four sites that are under our department’s purview are as follows. The principal property is our newer facility at the Dream Center, the second, Tamayo Village, is done in partnership with Burbank Housing, the third is our Coffee House Teen Shelter and finally our Sunflower Garden project site.

What do you see as the role of facilities managers within your organization?

I support the direct service staff and administrative team in their endeavors to ensure that the kids we interface with are given the best opportunities to get their needs met. I also get to train our staff in assault crisis management and how to promote the formation of positive cultures within their departments.

What is your biggest challenge today?

Becoming fluent in the lexicon of our physical plant and its systems.

What product or service would, or is helping you do to do your job more effectively?

So many…Resolve.

How do you think your profession will change in the next five years?

I think we will be restructuring several of our core maintenance and landscaping services to facilitate the hiring of youth.
