“Despite the numerous opportunities I’ve enjoyed and developing a diverse palette of skills, I freely admit that my extensive and loving circle of family and friends is my greatest achievement…”
Professional background: My passion for collaboration, creating community, and grasping “the big picture” has naturally drawn me to join the team at Clear Blue Commercial. After working for several years as VP of Business Development at Z-Concepts, an innovative design and construction firm, I am proud to bring years of expertise and out-of-the-box thinking to a mission-driven company
Education: B.A., Dominican University; M.F.A., American Conservatory Theatre; currently enjoying a 4.0 GPA in psychology at Santa Rosa Junior College
Describe the facilities you oversee: We have managed office, R&D flexspace, and medical buildings totaling half a million square feet in the North Bay.
Tell us a little bit about yourself: I have enjoyed an eclectic career running the gamut from restaurateur, rodeo rider, swordsman, construction supervisor, stand-up comedian, cabaret singer, to published poet. I relish my accomplishments as a theater director, directing international award-winning productions for Montgomery High School and critically acclaimed shows at the 6th Street playhouse. I have worked as a producer, stunt coordinator, and assistant director on numerous commercials and feature films as well as several award-winning independent projects.
My faculty credits include Stanford University, Berkeley Digital Film Institute, the American Conservatory Theatre, Berkeley Rep, California Institute of the Arts, Julliard, NYU, Montgomery High School and the Lee Strasberg Institute.
What do you see as the role of the facilities managers within your organization?
The main objective of a business is servicing its clientele. We want the services we provide to be more than just a return phone call. Our business is about being proactive and supporting our community and our clients. We ensure this optimum level of service by being accessible, transparent, proactive, and always looking at the big picture. We don’t just emphasize service to our clients; our business is also about our tenants, our vendors, buyers, sellers, our community, and our planet. Our clients know that we genuinely care about their needs. We strive to be responsive, transparent, accessible, and trustworthy, because those are the real pillars of how we do business.
Community involvement: Leadership Petaluma, Class of 2017. Daily Acts Stewardship Circle, 2016 North Bay Business Journal Philanthropy Award winner, 2016 North Bay Biz – Best Green Business Award winner.
What is the achievement you are most proud of?
Despite the numerous opportunities I’ve enjoyed and developing a diverse palette of skills, I freely admit that my extensive and loving circle of family and friends is my greatest achievement, including my lucky and adoring wife who also writes my bios.
What is your biggest challenge today?
Other than filling out this questionnaire, it has been educating our clients in green best practices. We have made it our mission to prove that sustainability is not charity. It is the essential building block of our new economy
What is the next major project either underway or on the horizon?
We are focusing on large-scale sustainability consulting and project management. More on this story as it develops.
What product or service would, or is helping you do to do your job more effectively?
I am nothing without my colleagues and my smartphone.
