Paul Bartholow has been named principal of Brelje & Race Consulting Engineers in Santa Rosa. He has more than 30 years of civil engineering experience, specifically site-improvement design, stormwater management and treatment, construction inspection, and quality control. He oversees the firm’s site development team.
Ryan Gleason has joined the ownership group of the firm as an associate. Gleason has been with Brelje & Race since 2008 and the firm said he has more than 15 years of civil engineering experience, primarily with site utility design, storm water master planning, permitting, and construction management of commercial, residential, healthcare, school, winery and public agency projects.
Rabobank hired Monica Parker as vice president and Napa branch manager. In her new role, Parker is responsible for new business development and community outreach as well as managing daily operations within the branch, located at 700 Trancas St.
Parker brings more than 15 years of financial services experience to the position. Prior to joining Rabobank, she was a business relationship manager with JPMorgan Chase in Napa. Parker completed her bachelor of science in business administration at the University of the Pacific.
Builders’ Studio of Sebastopol hired Julia Supanich to manage marketing and interior design. She has more than 25 years of experience in the design and construction industry, both as a former small-business owner and in architectural offices in Oregon and California.
Solar Works of Sebastopol hired Barbara Oldershaw as business and community outreach coordinator. She previously was sustainability director at Sonoma-USA, a Santa Rosa-based vinyl banner-repurposing company.
Gaw Van Male, a wine, business law and estate planning firm in Napa, hired Carlie Speelman as a paralegal specialist in alcohol beverage matters.
A Northern California native, Speelman has spent more than a decade in the wine industry advising her internal clients on every aspect of alcohol beverage regulation including trade practices, compliance and licensing. Prior to joining Gaw Van Male, Speelman worked in the Legal and Regulatory Affairs departments of Treasury Wine Estates, Trinchero Family Estates and Francis Ford Coppola Presents. She received her paralegal certification from the University of California, Davis.
John Evans, general manager of Napa’s Silverado Resort and Spa, a Wyndham Hotel Group property, has been named by the American Hotel & Lodging Association as Outstanding General Manager of the Year for a large property.
Evans was one of just six employees across the country to be recognized as one of this year’s Stars of the Industry — an annual awards program that celebrates the nation’s top employees and properties for their outstanding accomplishments, service, and leadership in the hospitality and lodging industry.
The resort’s announcement stated that this year’s Stars of the Industry were chosen from some 500 incredible nominations from hotels of every size and in every sector across the country. Each winner showed superior dedication, promise and passion for service in specific categories, ranging from emerging leader, to advancing women in the workplace, to excellence in innovation and general management.
Alan Vann Gardner has been named Oak Grove Union School District’s new superintendent, the OGUSD School Board announced. He will replace Superintendent Michael Kellison, who is leaving to work abroad. Vann Gardner currently serves as a principal at Del Mar Middle School in the Reed Union School District in Tiburon, a position he has held since 2006. He earned a doctorate of education degree from the University of San Francisco and a master’s degree in education from Wesleyan University.
