Andrea Rodriguez has been hired as Sonoma County Farm Bureau's government relations director.
The role includes monitoring and coordinating government-relations activities, such as influencing policy and regulations on agriculture and interests for the 100-year-old trade group.
Rodriguez was Sonoma State University's director of government and community relations for eight years, the liaison between the university and government agencies and officials at the local and state level.
Before that, she was marketing and special events director for the Volunteer Center of Sonoma County for five years.
Rodriguez earned bachelor's degree in political science from Whittier College and an M.A. in organization development from Sonoma State University.
She lives with her husband and two children in Santa Rosa.
