The Sonoma County community of Windsor has chosen a manager of an 11,000 resident Central Valley community as its new administrator.

Announcement of the selection of John Jansons as the next Town Manager was made by the Windsor Town Council.

It stated that Jansons comes to Windsor with a wide breadth of knowledge including more than 22 years of experience in the public sector. That includes his most recent post, city manager for Farmersville in the southern Central Valley.

The council stated some issues he tackled --downtown revitalization, affordable housing, business retention, business expansion and water conservation—are similar to issues he will face in his new job.

It continued that among the many projects that are either in progress or planned to start soon are completing the Town Green, the Civic Center Vision plan, affordable housing, infrastructure street enhancements and accessibility, enhanced community engagement and implementing the General Plan. 2 of 2.

“I am humbled and honored to have this opportunity to join the Windsor community. My wife, son and I feel very fortunate to be part of a community as family-friendly and progressive as Windsor” noted Mr. Jansons.
