Instawork, a hospitality hiring service based in San Francisco, has opened its platform to North Bay businesses to post jobs for free to find employment for the thousands of workers out of jobs due to the devastating wildfires.
As of Nov. 1, nearly 50 new job openings in Sonoma and Napa counties have been created on the website. The company said it is working to connect 200 displaced employees with businesses in the North Bay.
Jobs of all levels have been posted, ranging from line cooks, servers and chefs to managers and administrative roles. Among the North Bay businesses hiring displaced employees right now are Hip Chick Farms, The Naked Pig, Jackson Family Wines, Larson Family Winery, Vinter’s Inn and John Ash & Co., Crocodile, Retrograde Coffee Roasters, Archetype, BJ’s, Roadside BBQ, and Snoopy’s Home IceLa Vera.
Job posts typically cost $100 each, but businesses in Sonoma and Napa counties can post for free on Instawork until the end of the year with the code “NorthBayStrong.”
Those looking for work can use the Instawork app to find and apply for jobs, or text “NorthBayStrong” to 510–255–2903 to get help from a job-placement specialist.
