Keynote speaker was Barry Schuler, chairman and founder of Raydiance of Petaluma, the world’s leading developer of ultrafast laser technology.  Mr. Schuler is currently the managing director of the Draper, Fisher Jurvetson Growth Fund.  An acclaimed internet pioneer, Mr. Schuler has developed emerging technologies into successful enterprises for 25 years.  Mr. Schuler spent eight years at America Online, including as its CEO during AOL’s height.

The first panel focusing on propelling the economy included Tom Scott, general manager of Oliver’s Market; Honore Comfort, executive director of Sonoma County Vintners; Bob Whitlock, general manager of Small Precision Tools; and Tom Duryea, president and CEO of Summit State Bank.

In addition, the second panel highlighted public policy on the economy with Efren Carrillo, chair of Sonoma County Board of Supervisors from the Fifth District; John Sawyer, councilman with the City of Santa Rosa, and Brian Sobel, political consultant.

The event was held Thursday, Oct. 20 at the Hyatt Vineyard Creek in Santa Rosa.
