WINDSOR — Viveka Rydell, chief executive officer of the nonprofit dental provider PDI Surgery, was given the “2013 Women’s Achievement Award” by the Swedish American Chamber of Commerce of San Francisco and Silicon Valley.

NORTH BAY – The Business Journal has selected 14 nonprofit leaders from around the North Bay for its inaugural Nonprofit Leadership Awards recognizing individuals for their innovation, community engagement and growth. The awards will be presented as part of the the Oct. 24 Nonprofit Boot Camp presented by Pisenti & Brinker LLP and North Bay Business Journal.

SAN RAFAEL — 10,000 Degrees, a San Rafael-based nonprofit that helps low-income students through college, today said it won up to $100,000 in financial and consulting awards in the Social Impact Exchange’s 2012 National Business Plan Competition in New York City.

MARIN COUNTY — An online tool to illustrate the rate of housing turnover in Marin County, a collaborative project between the Marin Association of Realtors and Sausalito-based Sunshine Marketing, has won the National Association of Realtors’ Game Changer Award.

SANTA ROSA – The Washington D.C.-based bank industry group, the American Bankers Association, has awarded Santa Rosa-based Summit State Bank (NASDAQ: SSBI) with its national Community Bank Award for Fundraising for Foundations and Local Groups.

SONOMA COUNTY — St. Joseph Health System — Sonoma County’s mobile dental clinic is among five winners to share in a $100,000 cash prize awarded to programs that offer accessible dental care to needy populations, it was announced today.

The Business Journal will honor 10 outstanding women in the North Bay for their success and contributions to the business community as leaders, innovators and visionaries.
