    PETALUMA — Sales of Lagunitas Brewing Co. craft beer grew 40 percent last year from 2009 and accelerated to 67 percent in the first half of this year over the same period of 2010, and a massive production expansion project in progress is itself swelling by nearly 50 percent just to keep pace with sales.

  • Napa brewery acquired

    NAPA – Pelican Brands of Carmel, Ind., entered into an exclusive purchase agreement to acquire the Napa Smith Brewery & Winery. The deal includes seven acres of land and 50,000 square feet of production, warehousing and office space. Napa Smith had appointed Pelican Brands as its exclusive sales representative in the U.S. earlier this year.

  • HopMonk to expand

    SONOMA – Dean Biersch, owner of HopMonk Tavern in Sebastopol, announced plans to open a second location in Sonoma this summer. The new tavern will be in the old Deuce/Emmy’s Restaurant location at 691 Broadway.
