SONOMA CARNEROS — A wealthy Chinese entrepreneur wants to turn 502 acres of the Roche family ranch and vineyards on the Sonoma County side of Los Carneros winegrowing region into a first stop for wine country visitors from the Bay Area to experience how wine and other major North Coast agricultural products are made.

NAPA COUNTY — A Hong Kong-based group purchased the Cleavage Creek wine brand, launched several years ago to raise awareness of and raise funds to battle breast cancer, as well as its shuttered 6,700-case-a-year winery and vines in Pope Valley east of Napa with plans to export that brand and other forthcoming California labels to China.

PETALUMA — Calix, Inc. (NYSE: CALX) today announced revenue for the fourth quarter of fiscal year 2012 was $91.4 million, up 12.5 percent compared to $81.3 million for the third quarter of 2012, and flat compared to $91.6 million for the fourth quarter of 2011.

SANTA ROSA — Electric vehicle maker Zap Jonway (OTCBB:ZAAP) today reported a first-quarter net loss of $9.90 million on $11.7 million in sales, up from a $2.86 million net loss and sales of $848,000 a year before. Zap said much of the loss came from consolidated net loss in the first quarter, ended March 31, resulted from the acquisition of 51 percent of China-based Zhejiang Jonway Automobile Co. Ltd. in January.
