LAS VEGAS – Autodesk Inc.’s 20th University event last week was all about cloud computing. The long-time leader in computer-aided design software showcased a complete line of cloud-based design, engineering and visualization tools.

SAN RAFAEL — Design, engineering and entertainment software developer Autodesk Inc., (Nasdaq: ADSK) today said it signed a deal to purchase Socialcam, a year-old creator of a video capture, editing and sharing mobile app and cloud sharing service, for about $60 million.

PETALUMA –Taleo Corporation, a Dublin-based developer of online employee management systems, recently expanded its operations in the North Bay and has plans to expand further still.

SAN RAFAEL – Cloud computing and Software as a Service (SaaS) bode well for corporate cost-cutting, but security and reliability headaches are slowing its adoption, say a group of savvy North Bay net developers.

SAN RAFAEL – Autodesk, the global leader in computer aided design (CAD) software, is moving cautiously but steadily toward cloud computing.

MARIN COUNTY – Quadrant Data Systems is in migration mode. The provider of managed computer services is leaving its Novato address, once home to Nacio’s co-location business, and moving to smaller quarters in the city.
