May 9th, 2011MARIN COUNTY – Teresa Magana is the first person in her entire family to attend college. She is a math major at College of Marin looking to transfer to U.C., Berkeley. She said the experiences and help she has gotten at College of Marin have empowered her in every aspect of her life.

Napa Valley College gets business center
April 11th, 2011NORTH BAY – Napa Valley College is now home to one of only seven business and entrepreneurship centers in the state. These centers are funded through the chancellor’s office of the California Community Colleges and are staffed by a network of community college professionals.

College of Marin gets first organic farming apprenticeship program
March 24th, 2011NOVATO – California’s Division of Apprenticeship Standards has partnered with College of Marin and Fresh Run Farm to offer students the nation’s first-of-its-kind apprenticeship program for organic farming. Participating students will learn progressive, responsible farming practices including landscape ecology, composting and fertility management. In addition, students will learn the business side of farming with coursework in marketing and certifications.

College of Marin Indian Valley Campus transformed
March 8th, 2010NOVATO – The College of Marin’s Indian Valley Campus has more than doubled its enrollment from 769 students in the fall of 2005 to 1,553 in the fall of 2009. Continuing this trend, opening day enrollment for the 2010 spring semester was up 16 percent compared with the same period last year.

College of Marin to break ground for science, math, nursing center
September 14th, 2009KENTFIELD – College of Marin will break ground on Sept. 15 at 1 p.m. for its new Science Math Central Plant Complex, located in the southwestern quadrant of the Kentfield upper campus. This facility will also house the nursing program, an IT department and a central power plant that will include advanced geothermal mechanical systems.
