Commercial real estate: Madera Vista apartments get $65 million investment
November 21st, 2011Denver-based Apartment Investment and Management Co. (NYSE: AIV) is betting about $65 million on the renovation of the 126-unit vacant apartment complex in Corte Madera, amounting to $516,000 a unit. Also: Rowland Plaza to be refi’ed not sold; San Rafael Corporate Center gets medical office rezoning; Deer Creek Village courts Friedman’s, Home Depot; Santa Rosa office short-sale lands big tenant.

Atlanta private-equity firm acquires Il Fornaio
June 13th, 2011CORTE MADERA — Il Fornaio (America) Corp., which owns the Corner Bakery Cafe and Il Fornaio Restaurants and Bakeries chains, has been acquired by affiliates of Roark Capital Group, an Atlanta-based private equity firm.

Marin County retail: Shopping center tenants upgrade, backfill vacancies
March 14th, 2011There will be a continued upgrading of tenancies and back-filling of vacancies at shopping centers throughout the county. First-tier shopping centers are posting rental rate growth and will continue to do so throughout the year. Second-tier centers will remain flat or experience limited rental growth and third-tier centers will continue to face downward pressure on rents.

Marin County: Corte Madera fixture WinCup leaving for Arizona
