SANTA ROSA — Summit State Bank (NASDAQ: SSBI) said it donated more than $101,000 to 100-plus North Bay nonprofits through its Nonprofit Partner Donation Program, more than double the amount donated in the prior year.

SANTA ROSA — An anonymous donation to fund scholarships at Santa Rosa Junior College has grown to $6 million, following an additional $1 million gift from the original donor.

SAN RAFAEL — An $8 million gift to Dominican University of California — the largest in the 122-year-old college’s history — will fund the transformation of an historic Victorian mansion currently owned by the university into a state-of-the-art facility for students in the school’s rapidly growing nursing and occupational therapy programs, according to an announcement today from the San Rafael-based institution.

NOVATO — The Buck Institute for Research on Aging today said it received a $5 million donation from architecture entrepreneurs M. Arthur Gensler Jr. and Drucillia Cortell Gensler of Mill Valley.

NAPA — Queen of the Valley Medical Center Foundation today announced it received an $11 million gift from the Herman family, the largest gift in the hospital’s history.

With the most recent gift, the foundation has raised $21.8 million of the $30 million capital campaign goal.

SANTA ROSA — The Ernest L. and Ruth W. Finley Foundation awarded Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital $2 million to support the expansion and renovation of its emergency department and regional trauma center, making the foundation the leading contributor to a campaign that has raised $4.2 million to date, the hospital announced today.

ROHNERT PARK — Mastercard Worldwide has entered into a $15 million sponsorship arrangement with Sonoma State University’s Donald & Maureen Green Music Center, the largest such sponsorship secured by the university in its history.

SANTA ROSA — The Agilent Technologies Foundation has donated $100,000 to the American Red Cross in response to the Waldo Canyon fire in Colorado and pledged to match employee gifts to the effort up to $50,000.

SONOMA — Staffing company founder Gary Nelson and his wife, Marcia, are making a $3 million gift toward an extensive upgrade of Sonoma Valley Hospital, including a new emergency department and other improvements, it was announced today.

ST. HELENA — St. Helena Hospital today announced that Joseph Phelps, founder of the Napa Valley winery that bears his name, donated $1 million to a hospital capital campaign called Project Transform.

SANTA ROSA – An anonymous $5 million gift to Santa Rosa Junior College, announced today, will generate approximately $175,000 in scholarship awards annually, according to the college.

GREENBRAE — Marin General Hospital today announced that it will open an outpatient diabetes center next year, funded by a $1 million donation from Kentfield resident Bruce Baden, diagnosed with type I diabetes himself.

HEALDSBURG — The Healthcare Foundation of Northern Sonoma County announced that it has accepted a $3 million matching grant from Mill Valley-based Kalmanovitz Charitable Foundation, providing up to $6 million in “much-needed” equipment upgrades at Healdsburg District Hospital over the next five years.

GREENBRAE — Marin General Hospital has received a $1 million donation — the second donation of significance within the past few months — that will help fund the hospital’s cancer, cardiovascular and spine and brain institutes.

At precisely 2 p.m. Tuesday when the embargoed release became public, news broke of a stunning $12 million gift to the Donald and Maureen Green Music Center at Sonoma State University that will allow the concert hall to be completed next fall.

ROHNERT PARK — Sonoma State University said today it had received a $12 million gift for the Green Music Center from Joan and Sanford I. “Sandy” Weill, the largest single cash gift in the university’s history. The gift will enable the university to complete the concert hall and adjoining lawn and commons venues in time for the 2012-2013 performance season.
