Did Sutter single out Marin to take funds?
July 26th, 2010MARIN COUNTY — The Marin Healthcare District and many of its allies have accused Sutter Health of singling out Marin General Hospital for the transfer of tens millions of dollars out of the medical facility. But an examination of state data shows such transfers amounting to hundreds of millions of dollars are common for the Sacramento-based health giant and its affiliated hospitals in San Francisco and the North Bay.

June 11th, 2010The results in Tuesday’s primary elections for California governor and the U.S. Senate couldn’t have provided a more stark contrast.
The respective Republican winners, Meg Whitman and Carly Fiorina – both highly successful former high-tech executives – represent the future and the possible. Jerry Brown, who was governor three decades ago, and Sen. Barbara Boxer, a fixture in Congress for nearly as long, represent the past, way past.
