GREENBRAE — Marin General Hospital received a 10-year extension on its deadline for rebuilding a seismically sound facility from the state yesterday, which will move the completion date to 2030 instead of 2020, officials said.

GREENBRAE — Marin General hospital, the county’s largest provider of acute-care services, has undergone rapid change in the past three years, having shifted away from Sutter Health to an independent district. But perhaps its biggest and most important challenge still lay ahead, as the 235-bed facility seeks to entirely rebuild itself in order to meet state compliance with seismic safety measures.

GREENBRAE — Marin General Hospital released a draft environmental impact report for a roughly $500 million rebuild project that will bring the 235-bed level III trauma center in line with state seismic measures while improving other features.

GREENBRAE — The Marin Healthcare District is preparing to present a report to residents of Marin County as it embarks on the early stages of a massive $500 million rebuild of the 235-bed Marin General Hospital that will bring the aging structure up to state-mandated seismic codes.

GREENBRAE — Marin General Hospital has received a $1 million donation — the second donation of significance within the past few months — that will help fund the hospital’s cancer, cardiovascular and spine and brain institutes.

GREENBRAE — The Marin Healthcare District has leased more than 14,000 square feet of office in its existing complex just down the road from Marin General Hospital.

MARIN COUNTY — The Marin Healthcare District and many of its allies have accused Sutter Health of singling out Marin General Hospital for the transfer of tens millions of dollars out of the medical facility. But an examination of state data shows such transfers amounting to hundreds of millions of dollars are common for the Sacramento-based health giant and its affiliated hospitals in San Francisco and the North Bay.

MARIN AND SONOMA — Marin General Hospital, along with the Prima Medical Group and Marin IPA, announced the formation of a foundation that aims to attract top-notch physicians to the region as well as help the hospital maintain competitiveness now that it has transferred operations away from Sutter Health.
