SMART project brings bidding opportunities
May 6, 2013Keith Tarkalson is project manager for a joint venture of Alameda-based Stacy Witbeck and Missouri-based Herzog Contracting, which was awarded the systems contract for the Sonoma-Marin Area Rail Transit project from Marin Civic Center to north Santa Rosa.
Mr. Tarkalson is set to speak at the Business Journal’s Construction Conference 2013 on May 15 in Santa Rosa. SMART chief engineer Bill Gamlen and he responded to Journal questions about progress of the project and upcoming bid opportunities.

March 25, 2013Farhad Mansourian is general manager of Sonoma Marin Area Rail Transit, more commonly known as SMART. The commuter rail project is currently under construction, expected to begin service with a segment between Santa Rosa and San Rafael in Late 2015 or early 2016.

New SMART office will open in late September

Manufacturing begins on SMART railcars
