PETALUMA — Former semiconductor production equipment maker Tegal Corp. (Nasdaq: TGAL) is taking a larger step in its new direction as a health care technology company with a deal announced today to acquire gene-based cancer care information provider CollabRx Inc. of Palo Alto and combine the two companies as CollabRx in San Francisco.

PETALUMA — Tegal Corp. (Nasdaq: TGAL) today reported its fiscal-year loss decreased by more than half from fiscal 2011, thanks to sales of patents related to the company’s former focus on semiconductor chip-making equipment.

PETALUMA — Tegal Corporation (Nasdaq: TGAL) today announced it made a $300,000 strategic investment in NanoVibronix Inc., which develops medical devices and products that use its proprietary therapeutic ultrasound technology.

PETALUMA — Tegal Corp. (NASDAQ: TGAL) today announced fiscal third-quarter revenues were $1.3 million, a decrease of more than 74 percent from $5.1 million in the same period last year and down 59 percent from $3.2 million in the prior fiscal quarter.

PETALUMA — Tegal Corp. today announced the sale of its semiconductor-fabrication product lines and certain related assets to SPP Process Technology Systems Ltd. for $2.1 million, so Tegal can focus on solar energy development worldwide.
