SANTA ROSA — Telephone and Internet service provider Sonic.net is rapidly expanding its business connections, including a major sales push in Southern California and a planned fiber-to-the-business network in Santa Rosa.

PETALUMA — Telecommunications infrastructure system and software developer Cyan entered a deal to jointly develop products that help service providers significantly expand capacity efficiently.

NOVATO — W. Bradley Electric has diversified into much more than an electrical contractor, and now the company is becoming more than a North Bay or even national company, as opportunities grow for security-control jobs and, soon, telecommunications-related work outside the U.S.

PETALUMA — Calix, Inc. (NYSE:CALX) and Ericsson (NASDAQ:ERIC) today announced an agreement under which the Petaluma telecom equipment maker will acquire Stockholm-based Ericsson’s fiber access assets.

PETALUMA — Raydiance, Inc., has completed a $20 million growth financing, led by Samsung Venture Investment Corporation, the investment arm of consumer technology giant Samsung Group.

Raydiance says the new funds will be used to accelerate its consumer electronics efforts and to ramp up manufacturing to meet the demand for the company’s medical device, automotive, and other manufacturing customers.

PETALUMA — Calix, Inc. (NYSE: CALX) reported a 19.4 percent decrease in revenue for the quarter ended June 30, compared to the same quarter in 2011.

PETALUMA — Telecommunications systems and software developer Cyan today said Chairman Mark Floyd is taking on the additional role of chief executive officer as the company expands outside the U.S.

PETALUMA — Intelisys Communications, Inc., a distributor of business telecommunications and data services, said it reached a definitive agreement to acquire one of its service providers, Las Vegas-based Cloud Services Coalition, owned by Terrapin Solutions.

NOVATO — Electrical general contractor W. Bradley Electric Inc. has extended the reach of its telecommunications installation division through a new partnership with nine other technology integrators.

PETALUMA — Calix, Inc. (NYSE: CALIX), which makes products telecommunications companies to connect their customers to broadband, today reported first-quarter revenues increased 48 percent from those of a year ago, yet merger-related expenses largely kept the company earnings from being in the black.

SANTA ROSA — Santa Rosa-based Internet and data service provider Sonic.net today announced it has been selected to operate and support the trial fiber-to-the-home network Google is building at Stanford University.

PETALUMA — Dilithium Networks, a venture-backed mobile video solutions maker, was acquired by India telecom OnMobile Global Ltd., the company announced today.

PETALUMA — Calix Inc. (NYSE: CALX) today said it is acquiring Santa Barbara-based telecommunications products developer Occam Networks Inc. (Nasdaq: OCNW) in a cash and stock deal valued at $171 million, or $7.75 a share of Occam stock.

PETALUMA — Shares of telecommunications systems developer Calix Inc. started trading on the New York Stock Exchange, raising $82.3 million at the initial price of $13 a share. Share prices ranged between $15 and $16.50 throughout today’s session, with a closing price of $15.10 a share, a 16 percent increase from the initial price.

PETALUMA — Optical networking chip maker Teknovus was acquired by semiconductor leader Broadcom (NASDAQ: BRCM) for $123 million in cash, it was announced today.

NAPERVILLE, Ill., PETALUMA — Telecommunications equipment-maker Tellabs Inc., which has 150 employees in Petaluma, said today it will cut 200 jobs over the next several quarters from its overall workforce of 3,000.

A Tellabs spokesman said it was unknown how many of the cuts would be in Petaluma where employment is down significantly from its peak during the telecom boom.

PETALUMA — Cyan Optics, the Petaluma maker of optical packet systems for telecom carriers, scored a fourth round of equity funding. The company received $22 million according to a regulatory filing.

SANTA ROSA – TriAccess Technologies, the small telecom startup launched at the bottom of the telecom slump, was acquired by TriQuint Semiconductor Inc. (Nasdaq: TQNT) it was announced today.

SANTA ROSA — It’s all coming around again for Centellax Inc. One of a handful of optical-component makers for high-speed fiber networks to survive the telecom implosion, the company is in expansion mode thanks to new demand for its original products, said co-founder, President and CEO Julio Perdomo.

SONOMA COUNTY — The past 15 months have seen a surge in high-tech test and measurement equipment development in Sonoma County, drawing down the local talent pool and filling part of the vacuum left by the receding telecom equipment industry.
