Redwood Regional joins nationwide network of oncologists

SANTA ROSA -- The Redwood Regional Medical Group has joined the United Network of Texas-based US Oncology with the aim of sharing expertise and research and improving patient care.

Physicians from Redwood Regional will join a network of over 1,000 oncologists, the Santa Rosa-based group said.

“Redwood Regional Medical Group and US Oncology share a common vision: to provide the best experience possible for patients battling cancer,” said Wayne Fairchild, chief executive officer of Redwood in announcing the collaboration. “We’re excited about this new relationship.”

The medical group has six oncology practices throughout the North Bay, in Sonoma, Napa, Mendocino and Lake counties, and specializes in services such as radiation, radiology, oncology, surgery, among other areas.

US Oncology, through its United Network, operates one of the largest networks of community-based oncology physicians, with over 1,300 physicians.

“The addition of Redwood Regional Medical Group to the United Network of US Oncology strengthens our network and will provide more patients with access to our vast resources to help them along their cancer journey,” said Roy Beveridge, executive vice president and medical director of the Woodlands, Texas group in the statement.

“In order to ensure patients continue to have access to high-quality care, physicians need to play an integral role,” said Wayne Keiser, a medical oncologist at Redwood’s Oncology Center who will serve as the liaison to US Oncology.

Redwood Regional Medical Group is a physician-owned practice with more than 300 employees.
