Santa Rosa-based VinoPro Inc. on Dec. 20 said it is expanding outside California.

The Santa Rosa-based company plans to open a third office, a telesales base in Phoenix employing 60. The company is hiring (recruiting@vinopro.com) right now to fill those seats.

“Today’s announcement is a testament to just how successful and essential this channel has become to our winery partners,” said Jeff Stevenson, VinoPro founder and CEO. “We just can’t hire enough qualified people here, so we had to go outside of California to meet the demand. Phoenix was a natural choice with it’s pro-business attitude and quality of life advantages for our employees.”

Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey welcomed the newcomer.

“Their decision to expand in Phoenix is a strong testament to the pro-business climate and highly skilled workforce that have made Phoenix one of the most dynamic and fastest-growing areas in the country,” Ducey said in a statement. “I am committed to ensuring that great companies like VinoPro continue to look to Arizona as the premiere place to bring their business.”

VinoPro also just was awarded a substantial training grant from the Arizona Commerce Authority.

“We’re thrilled to see VinoPro select Arizona to expand its operations and can’t wait to see its new Phoenix wine telesales operation open for business,” said Sandra Watson, president and CEO of the authority. “Our training incentive program was a huge business driver in helping them select our state for their expansion, and the 50-plus jobs they will be creating in Phoenix are fantastic for us.”

The Phoenix office is expected to begin operations next month.

VinoPro’s second office opened in Napa this past summer.
