Groundbreaking that was scheduled to take place Oct. 28 on a new Kaiser Permanente medical office building in southwest Santa Rosa has been postponed due to continued rain.

Officials said a new date will be announced once it is confirmed.

The three-story facility, to be located at 2240 Mercury Way, will offer a wide-range of primary and specialty care services, including pharmacy, lab, and imaging services.

With 87,300 square feet of space, the group describes the facility as part of a new wave of Kaiser Permanente medical offices in the Bay Area designed to enhance the care experience by using technology and space to make getting medical care easier and more convenient. Estimated completion date is December 2017.

In August 2015, Kaiser purchased a 148,000-square-foot building on Los Gamos Road in San Rafael It will be renovated to add space for approximately 50–60 providers. Currently in the sizing and design stages, it is expected to open in September 2018.
