Marin General Hospital Foundation has received a $10 million grant from a Marin County-based family foundation. The gift will support fundraising efforts underway to build the new Marin General Hospital, dubbed MGH 2.0. The donor wishes to remain anonymous, the group stated.

Marin General Hospital Foundation is responsible for securing gifts for capital investments, programs, services, and new technologies at Marin General Hospital. The foundation was established in 1961.


Ukiah Valley Medical Center, soon to be known as Adventist Health Ukiah Valley, was recently awarded a $100,000 grant from The Hearst Foundations to support the Family Practice Medical Residency Teaching Clinic.

The Hearst Foundation’s support will go toward family medicine faculty development, including training for resident faculty created in collaboration with UCSF Department of Family and Community Medicine, the hospital’s announcement stated.


Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital and St. Joseph Health Medical Group have earned a three-year accreditation in radiation oncology from the American College of Radiology. The hospital announcement stated that it is the first hospital in Sonoma County to receive this designation.

The accreditation surveyors assessed Round Barn Radiation Oncology Center and Lynch Creek Radiation Oncology Center during their visit in May. Both facilities are a service of Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital and a part of St. Joseph Health Regional Cancer Care. The comprehensive review included protocols in patient care and treatment, patient safety, personnel qualifications, adequacy of facility equipment, quality-control procedures, and quality-assurance programs.

Town Center Corte Madera has just finished a major renovation, the first on the shopping center since 1992. According to the announcement, all common areas have been transformed.

Along with the centerwide renovation comes the addition of a handful of new offerings, including Rustic Pizza, an all-new make-your-own-pizza restaurant; lingerie boutique La Belle Fifi; and T-Mobile.

Tiburon local Tom Wyman is set to open the all-new make-your-own-pizza restaurant with Michael McGuan from Farm Burger.

Lingerie boutique La Belle Fifi will take over 869 square feet of space across from REI later this year. La Belle Fifi will offer luxury merchandise for bed, bath and boudoir, including high-end lingerie, silk loungewear, handmade slippers and fragrances.

Additionally, construction of craft coffee maker Philz Coffee is currently under construction in the former Charles Schwab location and is set to open in September. Sephora will open in the former California Pizza Kitchen location, in October.

T-Mobile will open in the fall of this year, and longtime Italian restaurant Il Fornaio will renovate this year.

Town Center includes more than 50 shops, restaurants, specialty stores and services. Town Center is located just north of the Golden Gate Bridge, at 100 Corte Madera Town Center, Corte Madera.
