Each year the North Bay Maker Awards highlight companies and individuals north of the Golden Gate Bridge doing exceptional work in product manufacturing, innovation and inspiration.

Out of all the nominations received, North Bay Business Journal picked 10, including a Marin County maker of decorative swords (Benjamin Arms), a west Sonoma County architect who developed a bicycle-towable camping trailer for the homeless (Ken Berman Art), a Santa Rosa elementary school teacher who is inspiring the next generation of engineers (Lisl Christie) and an under-the-radar Ukiah manufacturer of furnaces for the aerospace industry.

• Best Manufacturing Process Innovation: Blentech Corporation, Santa Rosa

• Best New Product: Ken Berman Art, Sebastopol

• Education: Lisl Christie, teacher, San Miguel Charter School, Santa Rosa

• Best Manufacturing Process Innovation: Retech Systems, Ukiah

• Workforce Development: Rough Linen, San Rafael

• Best New Product: Sonoma Cast Stone, Petaluma

• Workplace Culture Innovation: Tek Tailor, Santa Rosa

• Community Involvement: Wildbrine, Santa Rosa
