Resources for manufacturers subject of forum

SANTA ROSA – Manufacturing and supply chain principals are invited to a complimentary half-day summit sponsored by the Santa Rosa Chamber of Commerce, Comerica Bank and Moss Adams LLP.

Presented by The Corporation for Manufacturing Excellence (Manex), the Feb. 19 event is titled “Resources for Manufacturers in a Recession.” The keynote speaker will be Dana Johnson, chief economist for Comerica Bank, addressing the subject of the economy after the credit crunch, both on a macro level and also how the North Bay is affected.

Bob O’Connor, senior manager for Moss Adams, will discuss tax credits for research and development; UCLA management Professor Charles Corbett will talk about green supply chains; and Bill Browne, engagement manager for Manex, will point out low-cost, high-impact strategies for manufacturers. “The idea behind the summit is to let manufacturers know what resources are available to them,” said Manex Director of Corporate Development Nana Cho.

“Sonoma County is a key area because it has lots of manufacturers and many growth companies. It’s important for the sector to learn strategies that will not only help struggling companies but also foster growth in healthy companies.”

The summit will be held at the Flamingo Conference Resort and Spa, beginning with a continental breakfast from 7:30 a.m. to 8:15 a.m. and ending at 12:30 with refreshments and a chance to meet the speakers.
